-Large sponge filter
-300W Heater (Marineland) --flimsy, will probably switch to Rena

Very nice.Do you use the alternating flow feature on your 3e?
Somehow the Ranchus suit the bowfront!
I hope more people post pics and specs of their display tanks, I love to see them and get ideas and inspiration.
Here's mine:
120 g. drilled with 3 holes on the bottom. 2 Eheim 2028 ProII's and one Eheim Ecco 2234.
Each large Eheim pulls from one of the bottom holes which have prefilter covers on them (and plants sitting on those). They return with vertical spray bars.
The Ecco pulls over the top with a mid water pickup and returns right at the surface.
250w Ebo jager heater
2 65w Coralife PC fixtures and one 2x40w t-8 fixture (about 1.5 w per gallon)
Plants : Crinum Natans, Cryptocorni Wenditti, Anubias on driftwood
Fish : 7 goldies, 4 Sae's, 1 Albino Bn pleco

The canisters are connected to the bulkheads with fernco fittings. This allows a little flex when removing them.

Your setup looks really neat. I wish my tank had decors like that, but my ranchus have a knack of ramming into/pushing everything leading to eventual injury, scale loss and sometimes infections. I spotted marimo balls...used to have some but the fish eventually ripped em apart and they did clog up the filter.
I did use alternate flow on the Eheim for a while but stopped because it's a pain to set up every time the filter is cleaned/rinsed (every 2 weeks). I clean my tank frequently so I'm trying to keep it simple, else there'd be too many steps to do.
I'd like to upgrade to the 3e someday - I believe you get more flow with that unit than both my 2 2028's combined (they only flow about 250gph) - true?
Those plants are potted in glass vases - very heavy, and the driftwood is mounted on rock - if anything all the fish could do is push them around - they can't be tipped over, but they never move, so I guess the fish aren't strong enough.
I've had the moss balls for many years, but only recently the goldies have been picking at them. I started with eight, there are only two left intact. When they go, I won't get any more.
I rinse my canisters once a week, and clean the pre-filters every other day. If needed I use the Eheim battery vacuum during the week (it vacuums the bottom without removing water.)
I'd love it if others would post pics of their display tanks and equipment . . . anyone?
Ci, I really love the look of your aquarium. I've been thinking about putting a few plants in vases.
Suphi, "Popcorn" is so adorable. Going to Paul's is definitely on my "things to do" list before fall.

Suphi,
I would love to see a picture of the intake you hook to the Python and an explanation. I have a 55 that I'd love to do something like that to in order to make the water changes a bit smoother..
