I have a bunch of side-view 3.5 to 4.5 inch Ranchus. I'm feeding them pellets foods. How often should I be feeding them. Once a day or twice a day? I don't want to risk of overfeeding them ( swim bladder or floating issue ). Feeding portions is about few pellets for each.

The answer is not always easy. Frist in order to feed more you have to change 40-50% water at least weekly. Next the food should always be a sinking pellet, neevr a floater unless the fish are outside. Lastly pellet size is critical, I typically feed a 1.5mm to 2mm sinking Cichlid pellet as a base food.

I feed sinking pellets such as Hikari Lionhead, Saki-Hikari Fancy Goldfish and New Life Spetrum. Alternating them. Right now I feed them twice a day.

Instead of feeding a lot once a day, I prefer to feed twice with small portion. :)

I feed mine about ten times a day. They are fat pigs but they are very happy.
