Had an eventful trip yesterday. Made it home with 333 goldfish. Mostly orange but some nice sarassas and shubunkins.

There are more pictures on my blog.

Hi Paul

Thanks.

I have three shows I might do... I'll hopefully be at the Portland Koi and Goldfish Show in July but I'll be in Rome the week before so it might be tight timing wise and maybe the Roseburg Oregon show but that one is a bit koi centric and maybe to small of a market, I hope to make it to the Seattle show but that's a bit of a drive with fish...

Which shows will you be at?

Hi Dan

I'm flying into CVG on Friday ~3pm and leaving Sunday ~3 pm. If it's cool with Gary Fishes2Catch will hopefully make the trip too.

Just been browsing your website Ichthius, Very impressive

The speed that goldfish eggs hatch is just incredible. I'm used to things hatching at 32 days or even longer.

:worship: Thank you.

The eggs are now one month old fry. I'll take some pictures for their 1 month birthday. Is that the day they are laid or hatched?

Are you hatching birds? What species?

I will look forward to the pictures.

I breed hunting falcons http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w315/Orriblebastard/Chrystal006.jpg but I've been doing it too long ( 30 years ) and have had enough. I need something new hence the goldfish.

Nice. Peregrine? My Major professor keep two hen Peregrines and a Prairie Peregrine hybrid.

Not a bad guess, it's 50% peregrine, a six week old tribrid. Peregrine X Gyr/saker. After this breeding season I will sell all my breeders.

I was leaning towards a hybrid but just couldn't see enough of anything but the Peregrine. What does a tribrid fetch these days? Do you have to wear the little rubber cap for making the tribrids or just natural crosses?

Will you be keeping any of your cast or just focusing on your troubling?

What type of fish do you want to work with?

Asking what a falcon is worth is a bit like asking what a horse, or a goldfish for that matter is worth, they very a lot depending on quality. The falcon in the pic is a high quality bird, it has everything that falconers are looking for. That one went to Bahrain last year.

I have trained the males to screw a motorcycle crash helmet. All my hybrids are bred by AI.

I will be keeping just a handfull of birds to use for personal falconry, but even that is beginning to wear a bit thin. I think I might take this season off altogether.

I would like to get a few nice quality Ryukins and Ranchus. I like most of the varieties, but those two to my mind are the nicest of all.

I have to start completely from scratch, I have absolutely nothing in the way of equipment. What would you recommend I get to start ?

PS, What I do have is a natural pond which freezes solid each winter, and a very big empty basement. I was thinking of either making a few covered ditches beside the pond I have for babies, either that or keeping them in tubs on the deck during the summer. I have a feeling they would do well in natural ponds. I would have to bring them all indoors during the winter.
