Here you go. They're supposed to be top-view ranchu, but I kind of like their side-view profile also. They're turning orange, the one with white body is starting to show some reddish tint on its caudal fin.

More video from today. The SVRs were just fed so they were kind of sluggish.

Thanks for sharing. I love your big boy SVR.
Fun to see your baby TVR's work/exercise to get food:exact:

Thanks, I'd love to have another large SVR in that tank but my wife isn't very receptive now that I told her of my plan to obtain more TVRs...lol.

Don't you think your fishes are having hard time to reach the bottom of the tank. If I see those sign on my fish, I stop feeding for a day or two. Or just feeding them green for a couple of day.

Fred yeah. I fed them heavily before the vid, trying to bulk up the male. They're usually back to baseline after an hour or so. I barely do pellets now so they don't really get constipation. Some of my tvrs did the same thing in that video.

It is also breeding. Thats why swimming is such an important part of Japanese standards. A fish built right for Top View swims right. A SVR is never going to be graceful, more of a wobbler, due to tail position......... Still cute though.

My calico has some swimming issues and sleeps in vertical position at times. That's the way he's always been since I got him and I don't think I'll ever be able to fix that. The other ones swim pretty well when their stomachs aren't full, but of course, TVRs will always be better swimmers.
Suphi,
I love this group of fish! I have a couple that get sluggish after feeding pellets, but after a couple of hours or so, they're okay.

I moved my calico in with the TVR, since he does better in shallow water. I'm still trying fatten up my big male SVR, but going to do it slowly.

I'm impressed with the TVRs' agility. They sprinted around almost effortlessly.
