Does anyone here have other fish species in with their goldies? The only fish I've tried are Rosie Minnows and of the 10 I bought only have 2 left. Suggestions?
Here are my aquarium specs and photo:
Tank: 40 gallon tall Eclipse with carbon filter/biowheel combo - had approx 6 years...
Lighting: two 20W
Substrate: regular aquarium gravel
Fish: 3 goldies (1 common, 1 comet, 1 shubunkin); 2 rosie minnows
Air pump: Hydor Aero internal
Decorations: two large driftwood pieces

I would not put any other type of fish with goldfish. Your tank is already too small for the three you have. The types of fish you have can easily grow to six inches to one foot if given the space. I know that people have kept rosy minnows, white cloud minnows, cory catfish, platys, and others but to me these fish just compete for space and food for the goldfish. When the goldfish get too large, these other fish accidently wind up as food for the goldies. Get yourself at least a 55 gallon tank for the three goldfish you have

angelkitty, i agree with joe and actually, I believe you would need an even larger tank than a 55 gallon for the three goldfish you have. My common, comet and shubunkins have all surpassed 16 inches at this point. A 100 gallon or larger would be an excellent home for them.

Great idea!
I keep guppies unheated in many of my 80+ tanks and tubs.
Several years ago I found out John Parker was heating his Ranchu, so I keep them with Rainbows ( parkansoni and turquoise), platys, densoni barbs(unheated), Serpae tetras, and about 15 varieties of Plecostomus. Infact I breed Rainbows, and plecostomus with Ranchu and Bristols all the time. For plecs I am using L114, L316, and L75 plus Veiltail ancistris.
It is unbelievable how fast Ranchu and Bristols grwo at 80F
They do not fair well with African Chiclids, swordtails and N. brischardi.
Looking at your tank, rainbows sound great, Turquoise look great with Ranchu
