I do not know of any place there but I do know in Tung Hoi China they breed the ping pong. In the States we call them golf ball pearl scales. Very cute looking

Tiku pearls are faaaaar more extreme than any of the pearls coming out of Tung Hoi ponds. Definitely an acquired taste. Sorry, no idea who to attribute the pic to.

Some think the original tikus my be extinct or nearly extinct. They are so vulnerable to disease and so prone to swim bladder problems that they were crossed to stronger bloodlines and, in so doing, may have lost some of the extreme roundness at an early age and may have lost the extremely small head size.

There is a big wholesale broker there in Singapore who was getting them from the Malaysian breeders several years ago. I doubt they still handle them, but the broker will at least know the names of the breeders.

The Fish Sempai? Is this a Japanese Goldfish website?
The Japanese have taken to the Ping Pong very well. They have Ping Pong Clubs promoting the interest of this goldfish:yess:.

Actually Fish Sempai is a site from Canada which imports goldfish from Asia or breeds themselves. Here is their web site address...

Hi Samurai,

No problem. You need to know that to achieve this shape, you will need special grooming techniques to achieve the round shape. Based on my experience, it is better to get those "cheapo" tikus from Ipoh which can be very easily found in the Singapore LFS and can cost as little as S$1.20 each.

Since you are from Singapore, I will be most glad to give you some tips here and there. I am sure you know how to reach me.

GF Guru:worship:,

1. I certainly have a lot to learn from u (some I have already learned reading your posts in other GF forums) in keeping the goldfish healthy, beautiful and in very a space-constrained environment and with limited water change, turns them out even good enough to win GF competitions. Thk u for your kind offer to help groom the Ping Pongs fit, well and chubby. I will certainly be in touch with u soon.

2. Ping Pong Clubs - I am afraid I am past the stage of having the energy of the younger hobbyists to start such a much needed and worthwhile project. U can count me in if u know of someone prepared to do this.

Cheers!
