Is there anything more agonizing than waiting on new fish? Alright the birth of my daughter, but other than that I am at a loss for something worse. For me this is better than X-Mass because I know what I’m getting and I’m going to truly enjoy it. I have Ranchu’s arriving from Rain Garden today. Being able to follow their progress through the shipping process I think makes it worse. Because right now I know that my fish are in the back of a delivery truck being driven all over the place. Well they will arrive soon enough and their new home is ready for their arrival. I will update when they get here. UPDATE: They are here and acclimating to their new home (still in bag only acclimating temp at this time.) Rain Garden great job packaged well and pictures of fish ordered. Alright seeing how they came while I was writing this I need to back down to the fish room and admire my new Ranchu’s.

Oh yes, indeed agonizing hours!! Once, I bought some Bristols from John Barcellona and fish were expected on Good Friday at Champlain, USA from California. I'm in Montreal, so I'd had to cross the border to get the fish and back across the border the same day, not knowing if the shipping would arrive on that particular day. It took almost 2 hours to go through the USA border. Canadians were going to US for the long week end.
It was so stressing having to answer the officer's questions at the borders both ways. They probably thought I was crazy crossing the border only to get a box of GOLDFISH.
The box was to come by UPS. I expected to find a UPS office but NO, it was some kind of convenient store in a Peterbilt truck stop and the UPS sign was not clear. The truck was late and the owner at the store was so rude. When the truck arrived, the driver had no box for me. Fortunately, he said he left a box at another store in the same Peterbilt truck stop and the owner didn't know anything about it.
That was the worse moments I went through to get goldfish.

Gerard,
Just reading your story was stressing me out! I am laughing thinking of you roaming around a Peterbilt truck stop asking if anyone has seen your goldfish:)
Cheers,

Gerard,
Your story about getting fish from Barcelona is almost as bad as gettings topped at the border and havu=ing to turn around because the number of fish you had qualitfied yo as a commercial importer

You are right! That was another stressing adventure. I hope these won't happen too often. The reward is when you see the fish swimming in your tank. We tend to forget and start again.
