How do feed green peas? Cook or raw? With or without skins? Is this good supplment with pellet food beside aiding SB issues.

Take the skin off. Any fresh vegetable is a good supplement.

Thanks Steve. No need to cook the peas?

I use frozen green peas. I put them in hot water for a few minutes to make them easy to peel. I peel them, the squish them a little with my finger...they LOVE them.

I do the same as sweetshannon. But lately since I started making gel food with lots of veggie (including peas) for the goldfish, I haven't been feeding peas by themselves.

What is in Pea's that makes them better than other veggies? People say to use them with fish with SBD. WHY?

I've heard that they have a high sugar content.
My goldies absolutely love them!
However, one of my Orandas will get floaty if she has too many.

Has anybody heard that soybeans are the new and improved green peas? They are low in sugar and high in protein! I use soybeans now. Skin them just like peas. They're much bigger, so you wont have to skin so many.

I don't know man! I heard soybeans elevates estrogen levels. I don't want my TVR's to have "Man-boobs."
Jokes aside, I'm going to give that a try. Ill have to remember next time I'm at Trader Joe's:)

You're looking at this all wrong....... just imagine how rare and valuable the man-boob strain could be? This will be America's great contribution to the development of the ranchu!:yeahbaby:

have been feeding peas to goldfish for years
if you get frozen peas, thaw them in a little bowl of water in the microwave, run them under cold water, take the skins off, put them on a paper plate, and feed them to your fish
my fish loved peas (wouldn't eat lettuce, though)
