Not many Ryukins in the judging forum, I guess I'll be the first.
All comments welcome.
Purchased at a LFS at a size of 2 inches now close to 5 inches.

Very nice fish, no flaws, perhaps the one fin not having any red is a minor detraction. I would try and get it in the sun and see if the red deepens. It might be a little shor tofr my taste.

Nice short-finned ryukin! I agree with Gary about minor flaw. Peduncle looks a bit thin/weak. Does it have a balanced swimming?

Yea, the slightly pinched peduncle is the only issue. Nice fish..

Looks good. Nice clean scaling and well presented fins, however the pics do suggest some sort of swimming issues. How does it carry itself through the water?

Thanks for the comments.
Surprisingly he swims straight and has good control, some of my other
ryukins aren't as graceful the females especially.
It's a shame about his one pelvic fin on his right side, it doesn't
seem to be able to get any color. All his fin are nicely paired and he's developing a nice chunk to him. And maybe over time his peduncle will strengthen. Also in the U.S. most people seem to like
the long finned ryukins. I happen to like the clean lines of the short finned, too me it makes for a very neat fish.
Once again I appreciate your comments (everyone's) I'm new to the goldfish
hobbie, I'm in it just over a year. My taste in fish has changed drastically
over the last year. I like to think I've become more educated, I guess time
will tell.
