I just received 2 ranchus on Tuesday and I came home to see eggs everywhere! These fish are listed at 4 months old and about 4 inches, are they maybe a bit older than that?
I was thinking one fish was a male but then it just dropped eggs in front of me after wiggling vigorously in the corner.
My question is it possible to have a pair, and they would try breeding at such a young age? Or is it just a case of fish needing to release eggs so they don't become eggbound. I just had a female discus in isolation lay hundreds of eggs without a partner, so I'm thinking they just need to get rid of it since they're so full of eggs.
