About 3 weeks ago, Steve @ Raingarden sent Lari four tosakin that she had asked him to pick for her. I just took the following video of them (I never claimed to be a photographer). Also is our 110g Ranchu tank and some of Lari's bettas. And the pepper grinder? Grinding Hikari for the tosakin babies, of course.... LOL :)

Not bad I would like to see them in a bowl.
I also like how you keep your air stone down.

I don't know anyone that keeps tosakins. I do know it's a favorite of Ed from Goldfish Utopia. Thanks for sharing the video, and please keep us updated on their progress.

I also love your ranchu tank! What vendor did you get them from?

Tosakin!!! Interesting fish for me. Can you post their progress? It might become a good treat or blog.

I like your ranchu especially the black one. :)

We needed to clean out the tosakins 10g this morning so we put them in a bowl and took pix. They are about 17 weeks now I think and about 1.25 to 1.75".

Good looking , Great Tails and Good swimmers!
I think 3 G's are a better rating than AAA.
Yea I know I just came up with the 3 G's but I like it.

Looks good. Check your color baby, it looks like the tail is splitting.......

Looking in then 1st picture you've posted. Not sure if it's just a picture.
But the one that already turn colored and the black beneath it. They're both doesnt have balance/equal stomach when viewing from top-viewed.

We have noticed that the stomachs are not symetrical on a couple of them. Someone told us that they MAY grow out of it....?????? I kinda doubt it but these are our first tosakin so we will grow them for awhile and hopefully get some more to learn from.

My bigger concern is the possible split in the tail of the color baby......

I have never seen an adult with a stomach like that. It was not there before so I suspect it is a transitory sort of thing.

You should put them in shallow water before they beat up their tails.

I am no expert, but do have a dozen or so. You should be keeping these fish in shallow and more still water. These are very beautiful fish to observe from the top, even if they are not show prospects. I do not believe any of mine are, but the way they move and show their tails is like no other goldfish in person.

Enjoy!
