There's a lot of companies that make domed skylights. You can buy those domes a lot cheaper that way and in a lot more sizes.

a large clear glass ball (for a light) will nock you back $10-20 at home depot. at a garden shop you can find wire rings with legs that hold heavy blossomed flowers like peonies up (think of a single tier tomato cage and you are pretty much there). find compatible sizes, trim legs to the right length and volà.

in a deep pond, an upside down tomato cage could be the base.
