Okay so I am so excited to get my 100 gallon tank full of Calico Orandas. Well I drove for an entire day to all the local and distant pet shops or fish store of Orlando, FL. I was very disappointed in the quality and fish selections. What people here don’t like fish? I have to say that I came back home with nothing.

I remember my vacation trip to Miami last year, I had gone into an all fish pet shop and they had beautiful large Oranda, Ranchus, Moors, Calico Moors ect. It was Goldfish heaven for a person who doesn’t know much about them. But since I was on vacation I could not purchase any.

I am glad to have found this forum and I can see the quality of fish that are part of this site. I have seen Paul’s selection in the xxxxxxxxxxxx.com and I am very excited. I will hopefully have enough money saved up to acquire one. Why one? Well quality fish comes with a big prize tag. It took time and money to get my empty tanks ready, well so the same will be for adding fish. Slowly I will have a beautiful tank full of Orandas.

Paul has some babies calico orandas, may be you can get some and watch them grow. They are much more affordable too.

Picking the right fish is important. Buy only what you like and just healthy fish without swimming issues, because they can and will stay with you for a long time.

Buying baby fish from Paul is a good start, much more economical--good Japanese calico orandas are rare in the US, hence $$$. These guys have also been culled to meet standard. If they come from good lineage, they will likely grow into beautiful adults with proper care. Of course, you'll also learn the process of fish grooming.

All new fish should be quarantined and treated for fluke--doesn't matter what the source is. It's a simple procedure that you can do that will save lots of headache and money in the long run.
