It was a sham feeding so they could stay in one place for the video. My normal feeding portion is a bit more. The largest two are usually very aggressive during feeding but they were well-fed 30 min before.

Got out of work early today, so I get to play with my fish all afternoon like a what normal person would do on a typical weekend--lol.

My Itoh "Flame", the fish with white head and a small red dot on it, is looking pretty good. The size is now the same as other smaller ranchu.

Another one during my weekly routine as I try to learn to use iMovie app. They got moved inside while I cleaned the outdoor tub and stayed there til the water temperature is high enough. It takes a few hours for my heater to raise the new water temp from 60 to 68F. I'm very impressed with the iPhone4, just look at the movie quality.

My Itoh-Kudo (1st fish) seems to be the fastest growing of the bunch. He used to be a very tiny one-year-old fish, but 6-7 months later he's the 3rd biggest. His wen development is also good compared to a few months back, much fuller on the top and side. Some fish are on the skinny side despite 5x/day feed, but some also hog food more than others.

Now that they are a bit older do you still keep the protein high in their diet? Lots of bloodworm?

I'm not too strict about diet--actually I haven't been for the past year. But I'm still very anal about water quality, scooping out poops 1-2x a day plus daily 10-15% new water infusion.

Their main staple has been Saki Hikari via autofeeder since it's easier on me and my wallet. I only feed bloodworms once a week during water change, but I also harvest and feed "free" blackworms (mosquito larvae) a couple of times a week from my 40G that was placed outdoor. So, protein-wise, other people are probably doing a better job.
