Its a Mr Aqua tank..

Dimension: 35.4″ x 8.3″ x 9.4″.
12 Gallons
I know that goldfish need at least 10 gallons. Some say a little bit more. But this tank is more special because of the dimensions. It has more area to swim through (almost 3 feet long), although a bit narrower than a normal tank.
And I have also read somewhere that it is better for ranchu to be in shallower water because there is less water pressure over it. So is there anything bad about it for a ranchu?
I plan on only keeping one in there. It is about 4 inches. Maybe another if possible.

I'm sure the tank will be fine. Don't worry about water pressure, sounds like a load of old bollocks to me. If the fish did not like deep water pressure it would not swim deep.

Although the tank's dimensions maximise the surface and swimming area available to the fish, the tank is still very small for a 4 inch goldfish, regardless of variety, and certainly not suited to two such fish. A shoal of small tropicals would be better inhabitants.

From my point of view, I thought it would be big enough for my goldfish to live in temporarily (I know they can get quite fat). It's just that it won't really be able to swim in big circles. Although compared to most other indoor tanks I see people have, they can't really do that either. But at least this tank would have let it swim longer distances since its almost 3 feet long.
But I had no intention of keeping it all year long in there since I also have a square 30 gallon tank and a wine barrel pond outdoors (I only have two goldfish in all that I keep in either). I was thinking is it, at the most, ok to just put one in there for the winter? Our winter only last about 3 months lol.
I guess I'll just do without the goldfish and throw in some red cherry shrimp later. I havent even set it up yet, still waiting for lighting and filter for it to deliver.

You can probably do it but fish may become stunt...and you'll probably have to do water change daily. I think at least 20G per fish is a comfort zone for ranchu.
FWIW, I house 4 large ranchu (6-6.5+ inches) indoor in a 40G shallow tank. That's around 10G of water per fish...but then I do daily WC.
If you can afford it, check out coral reef tanks, those are typically 12-13 inches high and come in different sizes...perfect for keeping ranchu indoor.

It would be ok for young fry...
Plus 7 inches is tight, you want some space between water level and top level....
