Hoffers was a really awesome place...but their prices were pretty high and at least when it came to their goldies a lot of them were damaged, espechially their telascopes n black mors :/ but ohh their koi were georgious (and priced just as such lol)! they even had the scale-less varity! awesome! Aquatics unlimited had some absolutly georgious Discus fish! WoW! Cant wait to get home n get thigs situated. And the best part of the whole trip? We managed to get a 10-20% discount at each store! :yess:

Hoffers is a must see. Gene Lucas and I went there when we attended a betta show in Milwaukee. Very impressive. In fact there is a signed by Gene Betta drawing hanging in Hoffers.... Another great shop is Sailfin in Champaign, Ill.......

my only complant about Hoffers is,they have this awesome set up with turtles and lil allagators and i understand the whole need for the chain of life...they feed them goldies (not my complainte) my problem is they had a very young group of kids celabrating a birthday and they gave each child a fish which the pretty much squezzed to hold on to then dropped and threw it down into the holding area (atleast a 8+ft drop to the water) where they hit with a loud smack. :( again i understand everything has to eat and the kids got a kick out of it but im sure there is a much better way of handeling the situation. :/ Oh but super cool ?? the HUGE 100+ lb Tourtiuse just walkin around the store checking things out! wow!

Thanx...... we'll run down and check out Smiley's later today. Always looking for new places to find fish. We live about 10 minutes from Hoffers and about 15 from Aquatics. Neither has much in goldies tho.

If I have a chance to visit Malwaukee, one of the place I want to visit is (you know who's) house. Their place is packed with goldfish and koi only. lol

I know right fred! all i could think about was how close i was to Bruce but i couldnt leave the group lol Hoffers had the most to offer goldie wise, but alot of their tanks had lots of damaged or possiably sick fish. Heck the tank with the blue orandas even had a dead one just chillin...it had been there a while n when i mentioned it to them nothing was done and we were there for like 2hrs. :/ a lot of the others had damaged fins or eyes :/ poor guys.

I live on the south side. Pets and Things is a good store for tropicals but not for goldfish. I do most of my buiness with Aquatics Unlimited. If you were just their you should have seen some of my Ranchus. I sell them my final culls, single anals and fused tails. Bruce not worth the trip unless of coarse your stoping by my house.:-*
