I would appreciate any input regarding waterfall foam. I am about to foam my first waterfall, and have no idea where to start. This stuff is expensive, and if it is anything like the expanding foam that I have used around my house to fill cracks, it is messy, sticky, and unpredictable!

Do I use a long straw on the can, and start as deep in the rocks as possible, and work my way out? Or do I just fill the areas directly below the surface rocks? Any suggestions to make it look good (and not leak) are needed. It is not a very big falls, and has about a one foot drop. There is a liner underneath that drapes into the lower pond. I have attached a pic. (This shot was taken very early this spring and does not look great. But the whole upper pond now has a rock edge, and the perennials planted in this new bed last year are just starting to come in...)

And how well does this stuff handle New England winters?

(If the brand name of the foam would be helpful, I will add it later. The can is at home and I am not...)

Thanks!

This is the Foam that I use and it seems to hold up really well. I have only had it for a year now but it made it through an Ohio winter with no problems.
