Since feeding fish peas is a cure for early constipation, is it better to just include peas in a regular diet ?

My orandas have problems with floating and constipation after eating commercial foods. I have been experimenting with feeding peas during this time and found that if I feed them peas for about a minute then the commercial food they don't have nearly as many problems. Just my take, but I think it really helps! I am not sure of the nutritional value, but I do try to get a varied diet and throw them in the mix every once in awhile. Hope this helps!!

thank you, and I think I'm going to apply the same feeding method. I was amazed to see the quick recovery after feeding them the shelled peas. I feed my fish commercial food once a day early in the morning, and blood worms every wednesday evening. Every other day I will throw in a few shelled peas. I will monitor them for constipation issues, and if they don't exist in the future then peas will be here to stay.

I've never undrstood the pea thing. They have so much sugar in them.

On the other hand soy beans are higher in fiber and protien.

I run the beans through a garlic press. It's like fresh extruded food.

All the fiber gets thier guts purged and moving again.

Ok, I am new here. So I am not nearly as experienced as the other members. But I would like to say that since feeding my fish peas their overall health has seemed to improve. I give them each a little bit of peas every other day and it keeps them regular. And they seem to really like them.
