I am upgrading my 50 gallon Ranchu tank and is debating to go with 75 gallon 48x18x20 (20 inchTall) vs 90 gallon 48x18x24 (24 inch Tall). The 15 gallon difference is nice, but I am very concern with height for my SVR Ranchus development, which average around 4.5 inch in size right now. Planning to use two Aquaclear 110 (1000 gallon filtration on 75/90 gallon).

90 is fine for SVR. I have 5 SVRs in 90 for more than two years.

Fred, what kind of filtration do you use on your 90 gallon?

Maybe I'll do the sponge thing also, maybe not, hate the sponge maintenance.

why hating sponge maintenance? I hardly do sponge maintenance. Perhaps every 3 months, I do the rainse.

Sponge filter rinising or squeezing to clean it, but guess its good bio filter. What do you put in your AC?

I just replace carbon pack with crash coral. :)

no bio media in your Aquaclear? Just carbon and crush corals? I see that you are in Brooklyn, I"m in Manhattan, do you buffer you PH? Reason I ask is that seems NYC tap water PH is 7 or lower.

I meant I left everything inside except carbon. For PH, please read the following thread.

Torch,

Try the 125 gallon one. It is 72 inches tank. You can see the different.

Take care.

Thanks ak47_chicago, would like to have a 125G, its too long to fit in my living room. Do you think the 24 inch height is an issue?

If budget is not a problem....I recommend you to go for 48'*24"*24" 120Gallon. Nice and Shallow. Best choice for you SVR. Since you can fill water up to 50cm which is a ideal for 3-4"+ SVR.

Oceanic is best brand for this size tank. Nice strong REAL thick glass. I have 1 and think to sell it, because my new fish room doesn't a space for it.

Hey Paul, I'm going with Seaclear 90g acrylic, since I don't like glass. 48x24x24 would take too much space in my living room.
