View Full Version : D.I.Y trickle tower for under $30

While I was at the dollar tree store yesterday I saw some long planter baskets, I had been thinking of doing one for a long time. and well here's the final product.

I took those plastic planter baskets and cut the bottom out, cut some of this stuff from homedepot to use for the bottom of two baskets.

I also picked up some PVC pipe and fittings to make the spay bar...

For the media i was going to use bakihouse, but I won't be going to ENkoi anytime soon, so I used different size bio ball I had (bought a big box on eBay for $10 or $15).

This is how my pond is filtered bottom drain gravity feed (upflow) to strapping bio barrel (20gallons). In the top of the barrel theres a white sheet, which is suppost to be for fines. Submersible pump on top of the sheet to trickle tower to pond.

Very cool indeed. What is the last picture? Is that Mechanical filteration? From where the water goese into that barrel?:worship:

Wow! Very impressive!
I am determined to learn enough to put something together externally for my 150g stock tank this spring but still trying to learn ...this is great, thanks for the pictures.
