That's how a good ranchu swims, changing directions effortlessly with one or two flicks. That is the beauty of TVR, and that's why hard-cores (or fanatics if you will) are so into this type of fish.

I've looked into importing fish just for myself in the past, and the overhead is too much. Over $600 (import/license fee, vet inspection fee, etc.), and this is without shipping cost and the actual cost of the fish. It's really not worthwhile unless you are a vendor that can sell lots of lots of fish, or a private collector with lots of money to burn. TVR also don't sell well in the US, so it's a pretty risky venue.
