Can I put Lysine in fish food ?? Fish provide this amino acid if you eat them....so do they make it themselves and should it be supplemented in their food?

If you are using a reputable manufactured food, the lysine is already in there and lysine is one of the things they are testing for in their ingredients.
If you are making your own food, you want about 1.7% lysine. But you have to consider the amount of lysine in the ingredient list as too much lysine can be almost as bad as too little lysine. If you include fish in the ingredients, then you'll be fine.
There are a lot of good things about homemade food. But, one of the bad things is that there can be an amino acid imbalance. We are not able to readily test for the various essential amino acids and many do not take the time to consider the amino acid profile of the ingredients. The easiest way to avoid a problem is use a wide variety of ingredients in homemade food and/or feed a wide variety of commercial foods.

1.7% lysine. good advice. Balancing amino acids will have to be investigated more. I am still experimenting with what home made food works for me. My recent gel food is a bit crumbly with the wheat germ. The lysine i had was not pure so did not add it. Used sardines and multi vitamin though and a Hemp protein this time! I feed omega one as well and of course BWs.

You can add an egg to get better texture and increase the lysine level. However, both the hemp and sardines are are high in lysine too so you probably have more then enough already. I wouldn't give up on the wheat germ because it is a good source of fiber.
