I finished setting up a Tosakins Tank/coffee table. I ordered a frameless tank from Glasscages.com and had them made 2 holes in the middle, one for drain and the other for air and filter cord. I bought two LED panels for the lights. I was thinking of getting glass pebbles for the bottom for the light to come through without exposing the mess underneath, but I finally decided to put acrylics gems on the bottom so it would not weigh that much and fish can move them around to find their food underneath. The top is StarFire glass. I had it running with only sponge filer and didn’t really work so I decided to put internal filter and its working well and keeps the water clear. I wanted to have a filter in but did not really want to create strong current in the tank. I was looking for filter options and ended up with internal filter. It is the only option since the stand is only 9” tall. I was thinking about creating something to hide an ugly filter and reduce the current in the tank. I started to make the filter cover with clay since I was taking a pottery class. I made the cover with clay and carved out holes in it so that debris can flow in and good water can flow back out without creating too much current. Unfortunately, the day that I was suppose to take my clay work to school to have it fired, the snow storm came in and the school was closed. I forget to cover the clay-filter-cover over night and next morning the clay got too dried, cracked and crumbled. Now I have to think of the way to create a cover for the filter ……I may not have time until I get a break from school in March….

Thats so awesome. But is that sponge filter really going to keep up with all that fish load, or are you doing water changes everyday? How do you do you're water changes? It looks like it would be a P.I.T.A to change the water....

I live it thought

I now have a sponge filter and an internal filter (FLUVAL U4) in the tank. I had two holes drilled on the bottom and one of them is a drain hole for water changes. I still do water changes every other day to keep them healthy.
