I recieved an order from Brine Shrimp Direct yesterday and they sent a sample. It says that it is Arctic Copepods, Cyclopoids, 65% protien, 9% fat, etc etc.
What is it and is it useful?

thanx

I think it is the same as Cyclopeeze (http://www.cyclop-eeze.com/product_info.php). I used to buy the frozen form when raising clownfish. Sometime goldfish will turn their nose up at the freeze-dried.

I find it expensive ( CYCLOPEZE i mean) But well worth useing in the feeding of growing fry! i also mix it up with my home made food In Paste form, for my adult fish.
I have reared two Ryukin batches with this copepod as a supplement noticed good colour enhancement, rapid growth and the fish seem to eventually get a real taste for it.. only live food has them more eager..
I think its a good additive where live foods or frozen are difficult to come across!:yess:

We use the dried cyclopeeze at work but my goldfish never seem to love it.

I've got a bunch of frozen cyclopeeze but the fish seem to like it even less than the freeze dried.

They love the flakes though.

Extremely high in Astazanthins so don't use if if you're concerned about color bleed.

It will make your fish pop with color.

Well My Ryukins are mainly red so it makes for a more intense colouration! LOL Thanks for the pointer!! will not use it on Calico fry in too large a dose :yess:

Mikroll, I get it by mail order from a shop in Barcelona, and the Product comes in a small tin, its prize is a bit steep at about 15€ to nearly 20€ depending who sells.
Try looking for "ARGENT LABORATORIES USA" the manufacture it,
or the make "HOBBY" ( they substitute the O in hobby with a fish)..
my leaflet says the sole Distributor in Europe are "DOHSE AQUARISTIK KG" and the product leaflets have a section in italian too so they must comercialize it in your Area..

If you cannot find it i can send you out a sample and see if its to your liking OK!!
