Hey everybody, it seems Costia is pretty active on new fish, if salt doesn't fix it try quick cure with the salt.

I recently bought some nice Ranchu and they were too sluggish and that was the ticket as salt was just keeping them alive but not curing them.

I've hit it with potassium permanganate with good results.

David.... I'd like to know what strength (PPM) you found effective using PP on Costia.

ProformC, similar to Quick Cure but not quite as strong, is another one that works on Costia. Easier to use on large bodies of water.

When you use PP for something like that, do you use it in a dip or put it in a QT for a period of time? What strength?

It's easy to burn fish with pp so I always use the 2 ppm immersion. The first link has the stock solution I use. I've scaled it down to one liter and an easy way to make it 50 ml volume of fine grain pp per liter. Then dose at 1 ml per 10 gallons for 4 or more hours. The antidote is 1/2 to the same volume of hydrogen peroxide.
