Very pretty coloration. Its very hard to judge a fish from a coupla pix but in these pix the head looks too big. Ryukins generally should have small pointed heads, sometimes referred to as parret beaks. It also has the problem that most calicos have and that is not a highly difined hump. That is all I can tell from those pix.

Nice colors! IMO, after a few weeks of good feeding, it will look better specially the hump.

I like these. The finnage and coloration look very nice. If you are lucky enough to have a pair and you can breed them, try to select fry with fewer metallic scales. Pay special attention to the gill covers, which I think would look better without the shine.

I think they would be more worthwhile on a veil project then ryukins.........

Length od pectoral fins and height od Dorsal suggest that these are of Veiltail lineage. Very nice fish, I hope you breed them

These fish are generally nice, I agree that they need some feeding up, try several small feeds a day if you can, little and often. When they put on a bit of weight the body: head ratio should improve. The calico is good with good contast, I think they may lack much of a hump even when they grow up as:
A Calico ryukins generally have smaller humps than non calico and
B The LFS where I work has a group of small calico ryukins for sale which already have a defined hump! Dan

Its not just the hump........ their length of body and head shape is more in line with Veils than good ryukins.....

Just get a nice Veil male from a breeder on here.

Why not go back to the same shop and get a male from the same stock?

Sorry guys but these fish do nothing for me - just everyday pet shop fish. Fine as pets but useless to the serious hobbyist. The fish with black finnage is calico not metallic. I know I'm a pain in the butt, but this site regularly features good fish and these are the ones that should be purchased if anyone wishes to breed goldfish seriously and then breed them pure, i.e. Ranchu x Ranchu (same lineage), Ryukin x Ryukin, Veiltail x Veiltail, etc., calico x calico, metallic x metallic (same colour x same colour), etc., etc. Sorry but it's a growing "American" disease - buy rubbish, talk it up, cross it with all and sundry, then wonder why only "feeder quality" goldfish are produced.
Come on guys, how about a New Year's Resolution TO TAKE GOLDFISH BREEDING SERIOUSLY - you will find it more enjoyable and rewarding in the long run.
HAPPY NEW YEAR - CULL ALL THE RUBBISH.

Not a good Ryukin. It is a calico.

Here is the pic of a good calico ryukin should look like.

Actually colorwise that is not a great Calico, needs more blue....

With Ryukins, people caught up the the hump, which is important, but alot of it is an optical illision. Two things that are vital:

1. shortness of the body from the head to the peduncle.

2. head shape/size (small/pointed)

In general John is right, you would be better off with better starter stock. But these fish are definately closer to Veil type the Ryukin. If it were me, I would not mess with them.
