I am trying to help a friend of mine with her fish. She states that the fish is bottom-sitting and occasionally, she sees some type of slimey threads with tiny bubbles coming out of the fish's mouth and gills. Has anyone every heard of this? The fish have been treated for flukes.

With what was the fish treated and how long? Is it a fry?

On this picture you can see flukes and the slime coming out of the fry's gills and mouth.
There are flukes!!

If there is alot of slime for fry mostly it is too late. The slime from older fish you can treat with 0.3% salt if the flukes are gone.

Maybe you can translate:

Good luck.

Thanks so much!!!
The fish is not a fry, possibly about 1-2 years old. I have asked her how long she treated for flukes, but she has not answered yet. I have researched and all I can find is flukes for the possible culprit behind this.
The problem is that she is in Germany and they can't find many good meds there.

There are all the meds you need.
As you can read I'm from Germany - please read the page for flukes and treating flukes with prazi (med name among others is WORMEX http://www.koimed.de ) I wrote the url in my first post.
Maybe she can check for sure for flukes with a microscope.

Once again, thanks so muchg for your help, Guenther!!! I couldn't translate the page you sent me, but I have passed it on to Sam. I also told her about the WORMEX and gave her the other link, as well!

I am not familiar with meds from Germany for fish. What I mean is, I am not aware of what meds they use there (the names, which meds are used for what, etc...) I so appreciate your helping me with Sam's fish! She told me to tell you that she thanks you very much!!!

Here are treatments for flukes, worms, nematode...

http://www.sera.de/index.php?id=668

For flukes you can also bye TREMAZOL (it's prazi in a solution) from SERA but it's more difficult to use than WORMEX. You have to change water after 6 hours or maybe get a bacteriel bloom in the water!
After some days you have to use it again and maybe kill the fresh hatched flukes depending on the water temperature. http://www.sera.de/index.php?id=729

Contrary to that, you can treat with WORMEX over weeks without changing water!! I treat with WORMEX between 2 and 3 weeks.

Thank you again! She posted today that the fish is going downhill fast and is now bottom-sitting constantly and hardly eating. She told me to ask you if the WORMEX can be bought in smaller quantities?

She finally heard back from them and they said, "no".
