Here are my Ranchu Fries.
All natural spawn. I picked up only eggs that are stuck on the plants.
Will be choosing breeding stock from these.

I now combined both brood into one tank for easier maintenance.
All together 385.

Congratulations!
The fry look healthy, but it's not too soon to start culling those with single tails or tripod tails. The earlier you start culling the more room will be available for the good ones.

It looks like a very good batch of babies! What have you been feeding them?

Thank you for sharing pictures of your fry with us but I agree with Rob. You need to start culling now. There seems to be a lot of fry with poor tails which can be eliminated easily - the tails will not improve and removal of these will leave more room and food for the remainder.

I agree, these are big enough to dump half of the fish with T tails and single tanks, make room now!

Thanks all.
Brine shrimp is their main diet.
I will be culling them as well. I will be selecting only the highest quality out of the broods.
Will post their progress.

Thanks. Here are the two little guys from earlier spawn. The back is smooth from a very young stage. I picked 4 out of over 50 fries... But unfortunately 2 died because of my mistake.
That earlier spawn was very little. That was the second spawn from a very young female. The broods that you see earlier are the third and fourth spawns of the same female.... I have a second yound female started laying eggs already... But I just don't have space and time for that any more.
Enjoy the video.

what is a T tail?
Three pieces are joined together that if looked at from the end resemble a Mercedes Benz symbol

The tails appear to be joined - are they? If they are, and these are the best, I wouldn't keep any as future breeding stock. However if the parents were young, it might be worthwhile breeding from them again when they are around 3 years old.

Yes they are joined I think... I have two broods coming up as well... I am selecting the best out of them.
Due to space limitation I can't breed them as much as I like to...

Two guys in the video got bigger now. I am waiting for them to change color.
The little ones has been reduced to less than half. I am only selecting around 20 out of the whole group.
The rest will find homes.
I am waiting for them to grow bigger to take indvidual pictures.
Since I breed them I can choose the ones whose body is smooth from very young not filled with fat at later age.

Yes. It was Cabomba like Marlin8 said.
