Been on the forum for a few months and been asking all these random questions. Just wanted to say "hi" and "thanks" to everybody with all the invaluable information. Many years ago I kept a number of ranchus when I was still in Philly and was acquiring my goldfish from an importer named "Arthur". Had some crazy adventures with the guy but unfortunately vet school got in the way. Now after graduating and working, trying to squeeze some time back into the hobby. My 55 gallon finally finished cycling after many months of daily checking. And am very happy with the goldfishes I got from the MAKC show on October. Thanks!

Funny how life gets in the way sometimes, but we always come back to goldfish!

Hi Simon,

It's nice to know there are other goldfish nuts in the Balto/Wash area. I live in Arlington, VA. I have Japanese ranchu and I am working on a calico oranda strain.

Cheers,

Rob

Cool, nice to know others in the area. If I ever have some free time, would love to check out your setups and your breeding projects. :yess:

I'll keep you posted. I plan to bring some fish indoors for spawning in January or February.

If you have the space, I'd would be happy to give you some fry if you want to raise them.

Cheers,

Rob

It's good to have a vet here in the forum. If, say, I need Baytril in the future I can beg for a prescription from you?

:backingout: I'm not that type of vet. I'm currently a pathologist in training. So I don't see any living animals. Just dead ones. >:)
Which means I never write prescriptions out.

Though on that same note, I am getting much better with my fish pathology.:Geek:

Are you at Hopkins or at U. Md.?

At JHU. Still have a lot to learn. Both there and from wiser and more experienced people on this forum.
