Hi everyone,

Up until September of 2008 I only had a 80 above ground tub for a fish pond with a wire cage top to keep the racoons from having a midnight snack at my expense.

In September of 2008 I installed a 365 gallon molded pond in my back yard that since then has evolved to what it is today. I have 7 shubunkins and 1 sarrassa, they are all about 7" to 9" long and really healthy. I also have about 15 trap door snails, and several native Cascadia frogs that are tucked in for the winter. I keep my pond heavely planted, and at this point I have a real goood natural balance in my small ecosystem.

Plumbed in to the side of my pond is a 17 gallon reservor that serves as a skimmer/pre-filter, and a 700 gph water pump that pumps water up to the 27 gallon boi-filter that is shut down for the winter.

I hope to learn more about ponding here, and maybe I can share what little I know. I've learned the hard way that the more I learn makes me realize how I don't know.

I have a hodge podge of pics of my pond at:

I really like your set up. The frogs are adorable and your plants looked like they are growing well.

Thanks for sharing the pictures.
