What do you feed in addition to your staple food(s)? Why?

I currently feed spirulina flakes and freeze-dried krill in addition to Hikari pellets. Although I can't prove it, I think these promote good color, nutrition and digestion.

(I will be phasing out the FD krill in favor of chopped whole small frozen shrimp since I will soon begin dabbling in oranda again and don't want *any* floating foods that may promote the dreaded SBD.)

I like this question, key thing is freshness, old dry foods have little vitamins.
Because of this I think weekly frozen food is good and easier to digest. Indoors I also only feed 1.5 mm sinking pellets. I am careful where I store my food, climate control is really important, refrigeration is good if you can get it.

I really like gell food, as a easy to digest, add your own vitamins type.

Orandas can get huge if fed enough in a clean warm environment, personally while I feed flake alot when i am gone, I prefer pellets like " hikari "and more recently Omega 1 because of the larger mass/ feeding

My staple is Hikari Lionhead, supplemented with bloodworms and brine shrimp alternating every other day.
When I had a backyard, I cultivated daphnia, and had great results with it
