I plan to buy an auto fish food feeder that will dispense food at least 4 times a day (within 12 hrs).

Can anyone recommend any?

Thanks

Hey, I have tried many types and this simple works great and the battery lasts for several years. it is a FISH MATE F-14. The trick is to wipe it down and clean the wheel weekly.

My grandson through one in a tank and I didn't find it to the next day. I dried it out and it still works. Also best with pellets not flake food.:)

In Germany I used food feeder from GRÄSSLIN, maybe you can find it in North America?
You can feed as often as you like each day, every 15 minutes.
I also used this feeder for feeding over month, every 2 or 4 days it was switched on with a timer.
Here is a link that shows the feeder.

This is what I am using right now. Can trigger every 30 minute but can only feed 6 max a day.

Thanks guys. So many varieties. I dont even which one to pick.

Fred, u got yours on Ebay?

I tried to find something locally, but most of them can only feed 2-3 times a day.

Yes, Ebay only. Found one in China town and price is a lot more than what you see in Ebay.

I second the F-14. You can specify the exact amount of food per feeding and you can do it up to 4 times a day. Other models I've tried seem to be designed for flakes and have trouble with smaller pellets causing overfeeding/pouring at times--it's very unpredictable. The F-14 is great for vacation because the fish would get the exact amount of food that you want. It also comes with an air line connection, to help keep the food dry.

Any tricks or tips for loading the F12? I always get pellets in the inner circle and it clogs the gears if they are 1mm. There's got to be a better way.

Sorry, there's no magic trick that I know of. I just use my good ol' fingers, carefully.

I fold a business card lengthwise and then us it as a shovel in the pellet container, once filled I tap lightly and with a little practice you can avoid the inner circle all together....
