It is definately not a nice disease. Not nice at all. This stupid thing has pretty much wiped out the month of September for me.
Yuck.
Avoid it.

My sympathy,
lots of my friends are getting it...dorms are not the ideal place to be during a pandemic.
And if i may ask, what chicago suburb are you from? I'm from wheaton.
I've been listening to the news and I'm keeping fingers crossed. How are you feeling?

I'm sorry to hear that.
My youngest daughter is a freshman at Mercer U. and I had to go and get her and bring her home for almost a week due to the "piggy flu"...
It seems it hits some hard and some mildly....sorry you got the worst of it !
As a teacher, I'm surrounded by it and using the hand sanitizer and disinfectant like crazy....

I am STILL not cleared for being in public. I got pneumonia post flu..... and that was pretty rough. By and large it is just a nasty, typical flu but apparently the protensity towards secondary infections is large. Hense - the pneumonia. Yuck.
I got the swine flu vaccine in '76.... and have had the seasonal flu shots every year, also. I am a fanatic with handwashing and sanitizers, etc. Always have been. None of that helped me.
I would say that this particular strain is no worse or better than anyother seasonal variety except that everyone who comes in contact with it seems to get it - there is no immunity out there. Secondary infections are common - and they are what can be REALLY dangerous.
I live in Hoffman Estates and in Winnebago Co., depending on whether I am "home" or "on the farm".
