Hello All,

Check out this video of what appear to be albino Azumanishiki (calico ranchu).

I would also like to point out the body shape of these fish. These a a bit longer than some orandas we have seen lately.

Cheers,

Rob

You mean Calico oranda.............

The Japanese are breeding them for top view as well. My biggest beef is the finnage. Would like to see a top view to see how squared off the hoods are.

Calico oranda of course, hence the " " ;)

I believe these are Japanese fish (Japanese video anyway), and I thought the body type was pretty true to the Azuma form. I think it will take awhile for the fins to develop. I hope to find some top view video of Azumas for comparison.

I checked it out. The fish still have some dark spots so it is unlikely that they are true albinos.

Albinism is defined as the inability to produce eumelanin or black pigment.

The red eye is not a fail safe way of identifying albinos.

Kashino and Ishikawa would be good lines. Any suggestion?
