Hi,

Does anyone have this problem before? I had the ranchu in 150 gallon stock tank with 1000g pump capacity. Inside has four TVR ranchu. One of them is behaving very strange. It have not been moved much and do not eat at all , for five days. Looks like it is hibernating, but temperature is about 80C. I looked at it, I did not noticed any wrong: body is good, gill is OK. From the look, it looks pretty healthy. But just do not why it doesnot move or eat. It is 3-4 years old. I am not sure what I can do..

sorry,

some wrong info. The ranchu has not eat for three days. I think the right side of the fin got injured (redish color). Anybody know the medicine to enchance the healing. I used salt, would it be OK?

If the fish is sulking then it's likely infection (common causes are fluke or bacteria outbreak). Fish refusing food is a bad sign, it needs to be isolated and treated quickly.

The only antibacteria I use these days is oxolinic acid, I have very good results with it (haven't lost any fish in a long time). For fluke treatment/prophylaxis I use Prazi. Give extra oxygen (more/stronger airstone) when you medicate. Do not feed until the fish starts to swim around looking for food.

Hi Suphi,

Thank you very much for the response. My fish just died this morning... so sad... It was my most favorite one... I think I am too late to treat him. It has been not moving alot but it was still eating for about a year. Just few days ago it stopped eating. Do you think it has a fluke for long time already? I thought that was its unique behavior.

Thanks,
