fry from unplanned spawn

found a couple dozen fry in my tank a couple weeks ago during a water change. they are either pearlscale x pearlscale or pearlscale x black moor.

I kept only these three.

WOW--they look huge for fry you just discovered in an aquarium.

oops..I meant, these guys were first discovered in my aquarium soon after they hatched and then removed to grow out ... 2 months later, here they are, these pics :good:

the black moor and the big pearlscale are the males.

Very nice Thomas! I'm liking the calico and the chubby pearl babies.

Its hard for me to tell from the pics, but is the green/brown baby showing pearl or normal scales?

nah, only one is pearlscale, the others are fantails. the fat pearlscale is the only one I'm planning to keep.
