Trying to decide on a design for a fish room in my basement, was wondering what input anyone may have on anything pertaining to this?

Sizes of tanks (more large than small, to grow out fish?)
filtration (bare bottom?)
Sponge filter preferences?
drip system if i need?
stand design
plumbing
lighting
***Anything else im missing please let me know:youtellme:

already have ideas on some of this but looking for input, because im sure im missing things, trying not to overlook anything :exact:

To grow out fish, maybe you might want to consider a pond-liner.
Size maybe 2M*2M.

thanx for the suggest, althou I already have a pond, bout 15x6 31/2 deep, was wondering about growing out fancier fish like veils and if larger tanks are better to have more of vers smaller, I have heron issues so trying to keep most in the house

A floor drain, cabinets, a sink hookup, and an old refrigerator/freezer are nice to have in the fish room. Also, be sure you have plenty of electrical outlets on GFCI's.

If you build stands, be sure to leave enough space between shelves that you can easily get your arms and a long net inside the tanks. If you will have any filters, plumbing, etc. behind the stands, make sure there's room to walk between stand and wall.

I can send some helpful pics later.
