To Admin,

I do not think it is fair that some user who has authorization to edit/delete post that they did post and want to delete on themselves demand or personal feeling. I do not think it is a right thing to do on the public forums. This forum i believe it is a public forums, not oneself forums. If i misunderstanding about type of this forum, Please let's me know.
If this is a public forum, So i believe everyone have their freedom to post whatever it is on the right section. Base on this issue, it seem like a communist forum that ONE who has power can do anything they like!
All of the public forum that i know of, they'll never delete any post unless some person posting a false language or nudity. Most of the time, they'll only lock the topic for no further posting if the posts are getting too hot!

This is my complaint on how i feel. And I hope a person who has authority to delete/edit not going to delete this complaint of mine.

Thank you and waiting to hear some explanation.

Paul,
We are giving a lot of freedom in this forum compare to the others. I believe you should be the last person who complaints about this issue since everybody know the history of what happen to whom in the past on other sites. I am not saying the other sites are bad. We all have our own rule or standards.

We are trying our best and moderators need to protect our forum. We reserve the right since you join the forum from day one. I don't agree with you.

What do you mean " I should be the last person to complaint"? I have nothing to do with this deleting post, since i have no authority to do so. I believe i see this forum grow from day 1 and i believe im part of this forum success. However, since we have more member and thing are sometime going out of hands. And i see some of my post has been delete without my permission. Plus, what i have post are not against any rule of this forum as far as i know of and it does not include any false language or nudity.

Once again, i also see some of the post that a person did post. And maybe about 2-3 hours later. That particularly post are just gone! Base on what i know, we only have about 2-5 mins to edit, but no chance to delete. To me, all this are not fair.

Please focus on the issue. I am not trying to blame on you.I just want admin of the forum to look into the problem. What you have said something about me with other forum have nothing to do with my complaint. Or are you trying to change the subject of this complaint. What in the past are lesson. We will have to do our best Today and tomorrow! This is why we have "Comment/Complaint/Suggestion" section, right?

In the other hand, The people who has authority can play "GOD POWER".

We are protecting innocent regular member from sneaky one by restricting editing/delete permission.

If you want to change your own post for a good reason, you can always PM to our moderators team and we can set it for you after reaching agreement in our team.

I have you warm you. Your tone is insulting us while we, especially myself, are helping to promote your business.

Being an admin on another forum, I must say that I agree with Fred. Every forum has their own rules and regulations. On the forum that I am an admin, we don't allow any vendor to advertise their fish if they are not an active participant of our forum. In other words, if you are only dropping in to advertise your fish to sell, then that is not allowed. We do advertise vendors by posting about their websites and giving praise to those that we have had good experiences with, especially when new members ask us where our favorite places to buy fish on-line. If a vendor is an active participant in our forum, then they are more than welcome to advertise their fish. There has to be admins and mods to help regulate forums and keep spammers away and those mods have to have more authority than the regular members, otherwise, the forum will collapse. Sorry, just my two cents and I know that I am NOT very popular here with some of the vendors because of our rules on my forum.

First of all, I am glad that all of your fish are sold.

Your posts under vendor sections are not insulting the others or not effecting anybody privacy. Your reason is not good enough to entertain you. Thus we refuse to perform your request.

PS. Everybody in this forum has day job and life. We are here to promote Goldfish hobby.

Fred,
This is why i said that "Mod/Admin" playing "God Power". If the action are enough reasonable, I wont be posting this complaint. When you deleting your own post, you believe you have a good reason. Now when i want to delete my post and i believe i have a good reason. I CAN'T!

Seawitch,
Do you really know what really going under my complaint here? Base on your post, i do not think so!
On your webboard, I have been making advertisement for couple shipment with no problem. I even ask some of my friend to join there, most on this forum. All this happen before Goldfishkeeper.com was born. One day, i getting a new shipment and posting on your forum. I got deleted and receive a PM regarding Money to be paid for advertisement. This is fine, since you might come up with the rule with i didnt notice of before i've post. And this is why i've never ever go back there and make any further announcement of my new shipment. I hope everything on you forum are doing great. One thing i would love to said is this Goldfish Hobby couldnt grow without people like Vender.

I no long post content on sites that limit my ability to add to or delete my content as I see fit.

Including this one and especially ones where witches frequent.

My conclusion on this complaints are i seen a person who has authority posting something and delete it. And that post doesn't really bother anyone. In the other hand, regular member couldn't. Otherwise, it'll be messy forum. I understand that each individual forums need Mod to take care the webboard.

This is why i said that if someone posting something even mod. They shouldn't be deleting their own post. Regarding to that, i do not think it is right thing to do! ONCE YOU POST, YOU POSTED! This should apply to all member, including MOD/ADMIN. Not like they're playing "God Power" and do whatever they'd like. If one want to play "God Power" on this board, who will want to follow their rule? I personally not going for that! I believe that not fair and should not happen on this or any public forums. I believe, we're all have to follow the rule, once again, including Mod/Admin on Public forums.

To the point where i asked to deleting my post under "Vender Section". I didn't try to make some entertainment. I just want to point him how one member feeling about how this game go. We're all grow-up man, and each individual have their own reason, not just Mod/Admin only had their own good reason. I know it not going to make sense to delete all those beautiful fish out and leave that section basically empty!

To all these issues, i just want to give suggesting along with my compliant about activities that i have seen. I hope that Mod/Admin or who has power in this board could do something to resolve this issue or even make a stronger or new rules! I dont want to quit this board or see this board going down hill.

My suggestion to Mod/Admin on this issue are;
1. Never delete any post unless it's contain false/rude language.
2. Delete only spam.
3. Hot topic that going too hot on the forum should be locked, NOT DELETE!
4. Pictures of people shouldn't be post if particularly person doesn't has a permission.

Ah David! You sweet talker you! If you think that calling me a witch is going to bother me after YOUR behavior on my forum, then I'm so sorry to disapoint you. LMAO! I could tell the members here tales about you that would make their hair curl! Also, another reason you don't "pawn" your fish on my site anymore, or anywhere else, is because your fish are not worth what YOU think they are, Dear.

Paul, I never had a problem with your posting your fish on my website. However, I did feel taken advantage of. You say that our forums would not exist w/out vendors. I guess that is partly true. However, getting FREE advertising on someone's forum and then only coming in there to participate when you have your fish to post is rude, IMO. It seems to me that when someone starts up a new forum, vendors FLOCK to it at first because, HEY!, that is a new place to advertise your stuff AND you don't have to pay a dime for it. Then, after they "participate" by posting a few posts, they drop off the face of the earth and you only see them come in when they have a new shipment to post. Unlike this forum, we run contests and we have to pay a company to use their server. Fred, no offense to you or this forum as this is a great place. However, it is not fair to me that we ARE paying for our forum and vendors don't do anything to help us, but expect to have free advertising on our forum and can't even participate once in a while? PLEASE NOTE that I am not talking about ALL vendors.

Fred explained it in excellent terms: A forum like mine is a place to educate beginners who are just starting to keep fish and THIS site is to help the advanced fish keeper further along on their journey. We coincide with each other and I have also recommended this forum to a few members we have, as well.
No Paul, I don't know the exact reason for your post. I was just trying to explain that having mods, admins, and rules on a forum are for the good of all the members.

King_oF_Ranchu

Yes, Seawitch. I hear what you saying.

Once you said my fish wasn't on your site anymore, or anywhere else, is because my fish are not worth what I think they are.

lol....well, if you know "Goldfish Quality" you might want to edit that post!

The main reason im not posting any advertising on any other forum because i've learned my lesson from the last couple year.

Posting fish for sale on the forums are very common on most site. It is depening on how you'd want to manage it. Even Koi and Goldfish Club Show are more than welcome with the vender. Without Vender, the show basically nothing!

Most of my country forum arrange a section called "Shop" section for all vender to do advertisement with Monthly fees and also "Buy-Sell" section. Buy-Sell section are not just for hobbyist to do trading, but also vender. The only thing about this section is it will expire in 14 days. If vender are not happy about this, then pay for the fee for their own section on the forums. This websites is over 4 years old. And just start charging fee about a year ago, since their site are getting huge and a lot of feedback. However, there are several type of people who building forum to make money or just for educate/enjoy the hobby.

If you want to know exactly why did i post this compliant. Please feel free to pm me. And i'll tell you what's going on. I do not want to insulting the Mod in the public area.

Paul

P.S. Seawitch, i personally see some of your posts on different section. And i believe you do not like me personally. Even though you never ever buy any fish from me and dont know me personally. So Please do not say something that you do not know.

NO PAUL! I didn't say that YOUR fish were not worth anything, I was replying to David (Ichthius)! I think your fish that you have for sale are very nice fish! I'm sorry that you thought I was talking about you when I said that. Also, I have nothing against you personally, Paul. I don't really even know you! I was just trying to make a point that there are rules on forums for a reason. A while back, we had it on our forum where members could edit/delete their own posts. A certain vendor got mad because I deleted an old post of his that was in out "For Sale" section. These fish were no longer for sale and the post was about 5-6 months old. I try to keep that section in our forum up to date so our members know exactly who has what for sale. This particular vendor got mad at me for deleting this old post and he went crazy and started deleting a bunch of posts in the forum. For this reason only, we had to make it where members can only edit their posts and not delete them. For everyone reading this, NO, the vendor was not Paul, or Steve, or Ed.

I'm not quite sure what you mean, Paul?:youtellme: However, if you are referring to the "delete post" thing, then I am afraid you are fighting a losing battle. When a person, or people, start a forum, they set the rules as they see fit. If you don't like those particular rules, then the only way to solve it would be to try and convince admin that they are wrong and to change the rules or start your own forum with your own rules.:youtellme:
