posts showing up in wrong place

if i post a reply to someone, shouldn't it come up on that same page?
when i post anything (reply, quick reply), it comes up on some random page where they'll never see it
is there something i don't understand, or is there really something going wrong?

It goes to the same page all the time. Unless you are at the bottom of the page, it will go to next page.

Can you show me the page which has an issue? Thank you.

i was on a whole bunch of pages (unfortunately i don't know which), and i'm pretty sure i was just getting it on the next page like you said
