Constant Supply of Duckweed

I want to give a lot of duckweed to my ranchus. I don't have enough setup to grow them. My fish eat faster than the growth rate.

Is it advisable to buy from LFS everyweek?

Mine was growing well for a couple of weeks in green water that I put fish tank water in. It was getting about 8 hours of full broiling sun...(too much?) and the water was really heating up.
The water started to go brown and the duckweed stopped growing..I poured a bunch off and added more fish tank water but it hasn't grown well since so I'm in the same boat.
I have to order mine and I do worry that I'll end up getting a batch with something in it that will make the fish sick but maybe there's a way around that ?

Personally, I would not feed from an outside source. I do find that it grows better at times full sun or partially shades. I really do not know why. Be patiebt and place a few containers in different parts of your yard.
