I love red/white patterns. Reminds me somewhat of Kohaku Inazuma koi's. This one is from Chief Geert Coppens' website: http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z110/eros904/tosairanchu02geertcoppends.png
I remember seeing a R/W TVR that had a lightning (inazuma) pattern somewhere...

Beautiful !
I'd love to know if there is a specific color gene for that kind of unique marking and the inheritability.
Thanks for posting the video.

Thanks.
I love how a good Oya looks. 3 years seems to be the age where they "bulk up" But you have to be patient. A stout tosai (1 year) most likely is too short bodied to make a good Oya.
Dan
As Geert always says, "Ranchu is patience." One of the few things I learned from reading old RG forum postings by GC.

Remember, the lose red with age, so if they have alot of white when young, they may be all white eventually!

It's not that difficult, dude! Real easy...you breeders should know "HOW TO".
It's very important practice on raising color baby! Otherwise, you'll end up with lot and lot of no color fish.

Haha...
I have not heard of any such secret. I have seen some young ones that just after turning orange from their baby color, they lose all OR some of their orange to white.
I have not seen an adult go through a loss of color to white, except for blues (calico and Metallic).
In those that are mostly white with some red, I have often seen them gain color starting from their underbelly. :youtellme:
