I really love the way they swim, quite different from my SVRs. They look completely at ease in the water.

Also noticed the tvr you raised and I think they look great too. I just wish mine lived.

Sorry about your fish, we all have bad luck sometimes. The good news is that there'll always be more fish to acquire.

Suphi - those two look stunning. I especially like the lighter colored one but the red one is huge! Thanks for sharing them with us.

They're growing little bit since they're arrived.

The red head has a super tail. Nice breeding group. And plump....LOL

No. 31 looks great Paul. How many times a day are you feeding this guys Paul? Seems to me their bellies are wider than the heads.

I did overfeed 3-4 times a day. I only allow 10-15 mins eating time then suck left-over foods out. This way i always do partial water change during the day.
Then before i go to bed, 80% water change.
Now im going turn my water to green. Hopefully i do not kill any fish this time. Accident always happen!, Hope not this time!
I love their bellies wider than the head. Like these fish! Just like SUMO Wrestling!

Where the heck is that fish at? That is a SUPER ranchu......
Oh, I like power stength in my ranchus, but not fat. Though I may let the young ones get fat from time to time. Remember, swimming is so important to good ranchu. A too fat ranchu cannot swim gracefully..... Leave the potatoes to the SVRs.......LOL

Dan,
On SVR, i prefer to feed them all day long. TVR, i over-feed them only 3-4 times. That is really big different. Im quite sure these fish will look strong! >:)
We'll see in couple month!

I love that fish Paul...I am sure it just costs too much for my blood.

And I thought my fish are getting fat, lol. You let them eat for 15 min? That's a lot of food. I can't imagine feeding bloodworms for 15 min, my fish can eat a ton in just 1-2 min. Let's compare in a couple of months.
Isn't that big ranchu one of Mr. Boss' seeders? I know he has several looking like that.

That's imported by Mr. Boss last year, I believe!
Not sure how much it was, at least $4K...maybe 8K!

well that is a super peduncle. Like tree trunk!
Dan
I'm sure they'll look strong Paul but I'm w/ Dan that balance and deportment are two things I would consider very important in TVR's.
That's an awesome looking breeder! Reminds me of Glassgoldfish recent Oishi

I agree. My tvr's can't eat that long either. After a while, they just spit back out.

They get 2 rounds of bloodworms while pellets are being soaked, then pellets become the main course soon after.

I'm gonna take vids of my old TVRs in a few weeks. Been overfeeding them a little bit, hopefully they'll grow a little faster.

Taken with Olympus E-P1 pocket camera.
The red head is confirmed male, now with white dots on pectoral fins. The white head is hopefully female, no dots and big belly. They've grown a bit, look at their size compared to my hand.
My home-grown TVRs are growing also, just not as fast as I'd like. My wife tends to forget to feed them at noon, so they get to eat mostly twice a day. They actually look bigger in person than what you see in the video.

Latest video of my sick fish in recovery stage. The red head, in particular, is very skinny now...he was refusing food for a whole week.

Seawitch, thanks. Unfortunately, I'm at limit in terms of fish stock and my wife already complains that the house is full of fish tanks (only 3, including a hospital tank):youtellme:.
My SVRs spawn pretty regularly but I let em eat all the eggs. Can't really have any more fish/fry at this point. The 2 tosai TVRs were near-dead a week ago so I don't know if they'll ever spawn.

I hope your TVRs are better now. I guess I am lucky as my husband doesn't care how many tanks I have as long as he doesn't have to clean them! LOL!

Ruby and Sapphire, fully recovered now and become very active once again. Now I'll just have to increase the feedings.

Fish swimming around leisurely, that's what I consider healthy.
