The red cap oranda is like it's name a red wen baring oranda. I see them everyday between work, at home in one of my aquariums and online but one of my redcap's wen has become white?? It was a process that took about three months from when I received it. My other redcaps have very beautiful tomatoe red caps. Has anyone ever had this happen? She seems to be healthy no fin problems, good scales, eats well, clear eyes.

My red cap is also in the process of losing its wen colour. About a third has changed already.
Done some research online and it seems to be quite normal for some of them to lose it. There's no need to worry.

Something strange I've noticed on mine is that the parts that have lost colour have also receded/shrunk slightly. Maybe by a millimetre or so, but its definitely slightly smaller.
Does yours look like that too?

I haven't noticed white the wen receding but definitely a color difference. Glad to know I'm not the only one with this case.
