Hey folks! I have a young butterfly goldfish that just recently lost his baby blacks and turned solid orange. I know this is very normal. However, over the last week, the orange has been turning white in an amazing pattern. This I have never seen before and I'm a bit concerned that it could be something wrong, though I hope he is just turning gorgeous! He is acting healthy and eating like a piggy. No other symptoms that I can see. He is in a 280 gal patio pond with 80% water changes twice a week. Ammonia and nitrites are at 0, nitrates are usually around 10-20. He is a survivor from a batch of babies where 90% of them mysteriously got sick and died though I tried treating them for everything over the course of a few months.
